Who doesn’t love great drama? Well, we do. We’ll take hear me outs down a notch (to keep this PG13), and create our own hypothetical friend squad. (odd squad reference??) 

Why don’t we start off with some childhood shows that everyone knows or has heard of? The sorts of shows that  helped us mold who we are, in terms of our likes and dislikes, as well as enhancing our character strengths. 

So, let’s pull up the background history (and her-story) of our favourite and ultimately the best lineup!

Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse 

Of course, we must start with the Diva of the Century . Since the start of the season, her voice and words are equally amazing and iconic. If Life in the Dreamhouse revolved around Raquelle instead, I am sure it will be equally interesting and dramatic to see Raquelle desperately try to woo Ken and fail miserably.

Team Umizoomi 

I’m not really sure whether this show is remembered all that much or not, but the show that cemented my early years would be Team Umizoomi! I swear, the  number of adventures I went on with Milli, Geo and Bot- is actually off the charts! Geo was definitely my favourite of the trio– one of the OG triple threats!!  He was the younger and sillier of the two siblings- and his cool spirit and kind attitude easily made him a memorable fictional childhood friend!!  

𓈒 𓂂𓏸◌–➌•Maudie•&•Ava•–◌𓏸𓂂𓈒  

Inbestigat⌕rs 

If you had to ask me which duo was the definition of book-smart and street-smart, it would have to be Maudie and Ava. Maudie’s intelligence and precision in solving cases, combined with Ava’s amazing social and baking skills, make the two a perfect pair in ’Inbestigators’ when it comes to life. Ava appreciates everything about Maudie, even her weird food combinations like Salmon and Peanut Butter! 

𓈒 𓂂𓏸◌–➍•Dipper•–◌𓏸𓂂𓈒  

Gravity Falls 

Gravity Falls, one of the biggest hit Disney shows of all time. – There’s so much lore and mystery in it! Even now, with The Book of Bill that came out in 2023, this series is back, as popular as ever! My favourite character would have to be the protagonist: Dipper Pines! He’s overly curious, but at the same time petrified of mystery- ever since reading the note that said, “TRUST NO ONE!” when he first enters the town of Gravity Falls. He’s incredibly caring towards his sister even though he often gets tired dealing with her antics, and became incredibly mature after everything that happens over their summer.

Murder Drones 

Glitch Productions is currently in the eye of the media around the globe- especially on YouTube, for creating new classic shows like The Amazing Digital Circus, Murder Drones, Lackadaisy, Sunset Paradise, and so much more! V from Murder Drones,  is a character who is fantastically layered- on the surface she seems like a sociopathic, mean, violent and sadistic mass murderer, trying to stop the main duo from reaching their goal, but she’s actually trying to keep all those she cares about away from her because she doesn’t want to hurt them again- she’s trying her best to care without caring, to maintain a facade so that nobody will have to care about her.

𓈒 𓂂𓏸◌–➏•Tuxedo-Sam•–◌𓏸𓂂𓈒  

Sanrio 

Most people usually love the classic Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi and adore the cute puppy, Cinnamoroll. However, one character that is underappreciated definitely has to be Tuxedo Sam! He is an adorable penguin and a stylish one as well, owning a total of 365 bow ties. Not only that, he is fluent in English and is a Navy veteran! He’s a gentleman who lived in England, playing sports like tennis and golf. Together with him, you can start a band where he will take charge of the drums. Hit it, Tuxedo Sam!  

𓈒 𓂂𓏸◌–➐•Yoshi!-Yoshi!•–◌𓏸𓂂𓈒  

Mainline Mario games and Yoshi games 

Yoshi is one of my favourite video game characters of all time: look at his face! He’s simply here to have a good time. Compared to Mario, Luigi, the princesses and even Bowser himself, Yoshi is underrated. This silly dino never fails to put a smile on my face when he exclaims, “YOSHI!!” From the original games, where you could sacrifice him in a vain attempt to go just a bit farther to cross that one pit, to Super Mario Sunshine where your trusty companion was always there for you, Yoshi is definitely a memorable character with wonderful design, even getting his own line of games, including Yoshi’s Island. 

𓈒 𓂂𓏸◌–➑•Kirby-Poyo!•–◌𓏸𓂂𓈒  

The mainline Kirby games 

Kirby: the friend-shaped buddy that brings comfort to many! The sweet little pinkblob is loved by me especially, a character who let me vanquish evil and looked adorable at the same time. Recently celebrating his 30th anniversary in 2023, and making an awesome comeback in 3D because of The Forgotten Land, Kirby fans have been blessed with cute content for quite a while now.

Mainline Pokémon Games, Featured in Platinum and PLA 

Look at this cutie! Who wouldn’t want to pat and cuddle it and give cupcakes to it? Essentially, it is the absolute best legendary of all time and the best of all Pokémon. All Hail Giratina, The best Pokémon of all time! It celebrated it’s 18th birthday in 2024, and is also a final boss in the relatively new Pokémon game Pokémon Legends Arceus. 

And that, unfortunately, comes to the end of our friend group. What other characters do you absolutely adore?
