silhouettes of pancakes
by Giselle
i remember, you always
tell me to go buy pancake powder
must make sure to get discount then
bring it home in pristine condition
then you would take the bag from me
pour in into big bowl with egg
dump the other stuff in also
whip up fine concoctions of perfection
i really have no idea how you do it
you make the pancakes so yummy
can teach me ma
i will make it for you in the future
they melt in your mouth, fluffy
shiok until you pass out
taste like u ate them in old days
they feel like something hidden
now the silhouettes of the pancakes
fade away – the memories remain
all that’s left is the empty plate
still smelling like bitter fate
