Staff Appreciation and Recognition Day 2024

Back in 2018, we asked the staff what they would do if they were trapped on an island, and got some very interesting responses…

“If you had the choice to be stranded alongside one other NUS High staff member, who would it be and why?”

This is a very dangerous question….. but I will try my best to answer it adequately. Anyone weaker and more naive than me. If I get really hungry, I can eat him / her. Or I can convince him / her to hunt for food.

See the responses we got in 2018 here!

This year, we have a whole new round of questions! Join us as we traverse a hypothetical chaotic day in the life of our beloved staff!

Do you: A) Pick out the hair and eat the meal, it’s no big problem. B) Inform the store owner and get a replacement. C) Complain to your friend but pick out the hair and eat the meal anyway. D) Eat the hair. E) None of the above.”

Last but not least, as we were compiling the responses, here were the things that stood out to us!

“After taking care of the situation, you return to your desk and sigh deeply. If you had not become a teacher, you would now be _______ instead.”

“taking a nap” – Mr Jeremy Yeo

“relaxed” – Ms Tay Melody

“After lunch, you return to continue your work. What task are you most dreading and/or what task are you most looking forward to?”

“Planning the next PE lesson. Can’t wait to execute the killer combo set of physical drills and see their tired faces.” – Mr Fan Kai Ming

“You are about to tuck into your meal when you notice a strand of hair in your food. What do you do?”

“Keep the hair for DNA fingerprinting exercise later.” – Dr Robin Seoh

Thank you again to all the staff who participated! And Happy StAR Day to all our NUS High staff members!
